Boston Palestinian Ad Campaign

State Street Station, Boston (MA)

Pro-Palestinian Ads are UP in Boston, AND we need YOUR help...

Ads challenging the idea that Israel is committed to peace are up on Boston’s subway system, the MBTA.

The ads were paid for by Ads Against Apartheid, a Boston-based nonprofit exhibiting Israeli human rights violations in Palestine. The campaign is running throughout the month of June and will feature three separate posters running in a series, side-by-side.

One of the ads highlights the number of Palestinian homes systematically destroyed by Israel – over 25,000 homes, leaving thousands of families homeless.

A second ad calls attention to the 150 Jewish-only cities Israel has built on internationally-recognized Palestinian land.

Both ads challenge Israel’s commitment to peace with a banner that reads, “Does Israel want peace..or land?”

The last of the three ads features a young Palestinian girl with statistics about the tragic level of violence perpetrated by the Israeli military – “Israel has killed 1 Palestinian child every 4 days since 2000.”

A banner at the bottom of the poster reads, “End support for Israeli apartheid.”

President of Ads Against Apartheid, Chadi Salamoun, states “the ads present the facts and are backed up with citations from credible human rights and international organizations, including the United Nations.”

Mr. Salamoun understood that some may find the information in the advertisements upsetting, but he explained that, “if the ads are shocking, that’s because the reality on the ground is shocking.”

Richard Colbath-Hess, co-founder of Ads Against Apartheid and a Jewish-American faculty member at the University of Massachusetts, stated, “American tax dollars help the Israeli government maintain a brutal military occupation, which has denied the Palestinian people their basic rights for decades.

“These ads show what Israel’s occupation and apartheid really look like, and it is important for Americans to see that,” he said.

Ads Against Apartheid is planning to expand its campaign in Boston and in other cities across the United States, and is hoping to gain support from sympathetic members of the community. Donate to our Indiegogo Campaign to help give voice to the Palestinian struggle for freedom.
